Penny Will is a Chinese Medical Practitioner, Board certified and Licensed Acupuncturist, and Registered Herbalist with the American Herbalist Guild. She has studied alternative healing methods for over 30 years.

Chinese medicine is one of the oldest healing systems in the world. Today, it continues to promote health and wellness, and to provide effective and safe treatment for most modern illness as it has for thousands of years. Equating health with balance, symptoms of dis-ease are regarded as manifestations of an imbalance in energy. They tell us where to begin. Treatment goals are to restore balance to ‘all of you’ by resolving the cause as well as the effect. Dietary, nutritional and other lifestyle changes are often discussed and become part of the treatment plan, but our most commonly used tools remain acupuncture and herbal formulations.

Acupuncture is a Chinese map of the energy flow or the electrical circuitry of our bodies. Thin, hairlike needles are inserted in various locations in order to affect a change in that flow of energy – is it blocked, insufficient or excessive? The intent is to move it in the direction of balance. Plants are used for the same reason. The Chinese combine them into formulas according to their diagnostic principles. I use these formulas but I also create my own from my apothecary of both Western and Chinese botanicals. I blend whatever combination will be most beneficial to achieve this balance in each individual. During this process, the body begins to recover its balance and as it recovers it begins to heal. It is just the most amazing thing to be a part of.
