The Lymphatic System, one of the most underrated systems of the body, is actually one of the most important for keeping the immune system functioning and the body healthy.

The lymph system bathes every cell, carrying nutrients to the cells and waste products away. When there is a blockage in this system, we become defenseless against disease creating illnesses ranging anywhere from colds, flu and sinus problems, to heart disease and cancer.

Unlike the circulatory system, the lymphatic system does not have a pumping mechanism to keep the lymph moving, it relies solely on massage and exercise. The lymph system, which is at the surface of the skin, is comprised of vessels with one way valves that the lymph flow through up the legs, arms and torso. To support the lymphatic system in operating at its fullest potential a regular lymphatic massage is one of the best remedies.

The Lymphatic Massage technique uses a light feather like touch over the surface of the skin. Using flat hands and finger pads in smooth, rhythmic movements, the massage therapist opens the lymphatic valves enabling the lymph fluid to flow effortlessly. Lymphatic massage can be very relaxing and has been said to be mesmerizing. Conditions reported to have benefited from lymphatic massage includes inflammation, chronic pain, joint aches, immune and fatigue problems. We recommend change of season lymphatic massages for best results.
