Going to get a massage may souMassagend like the ultimate luxury, but once you understand, and more importantly experience, the benefits, you’ll see that massage is a virtual necessity.

We are born to be touched. This is a fact that has been confirmed by countless studies. You see, the skin (or integumentary system) is the largest organ of the body. It accounts for 18% of our body weight and covers about 19 square feet. We have over 5 million touch receptors in our skin, over three thousand in a single fingertip alone. We have touch receptors for a reason, to receive and send signals to the brain for our health and well being. These signals balance the body/mind in a multitude of ways. For example, to reduce apprehension, enhance immune function, increase nutrient intake, lower anxiety, reduce swelling, stimulate the lymphatic system, help asthmatics breath easier, reduce the heart rate, lower blood pressure, release pain killing endorphins, and these are only the physical benefits.

As you may know, the body is “the house”-it holds emotions…happy, sad, painful, joyful, you name it. When receiving a massage you have the opportunity to release some of those old painful memories that get stored in our cellular structure as well as discover joyful ones that may have been hidden under of layers of stress. This can be a very rewarding and freeing experience. We always like to encourage our clients to relax, enjoy and let go – let our hands to do the rest!

There is no question as to whether or not massage is good for you. The question is where to go to receive the kind of massage that is most beneficial for you on all levels. At Insight Awareness, we are Licensed and Certified in a variety of massage techniques. Most of the time we combine these techniques to fit your particular needs. But most importantly, at least in our view, is that we try to find techniques and approaches that you feel are most beneficial. After all, if you’re not comfortable with our approach, you’re not likely to open to healing.

Some of the modalities you might experience include Deep Tissue, Swedish Massage, Trigger Point Therapy, Hot Stone Massage Therapy, Soft Tissue Release, Reflexology, Lymphatic Massage, Cranio Sacral, Aromatherapy, and of course Reiki.

No matter what the approach, know that we are there to nurture and help you in whatever way we can. We provide the environment and ambiance most conducive to your health and healing combining techniques to fit your particular needs. “The guest is God” is an old Hindu saying that applies to the way we honor your presence.
