Carlos Barrios is a renown anthropologist, researcher, historian, member of the World Council of  Mayan Elders and a distinguished  Ajq’ij, a Mayan Priest, a Daykeeper. Due to social and political strife in Guatemala, authentic Mayan teachers have not visited the Chicago area previously, but Carlos’ unique background and gifts make him one of the most highly qualified to serve that purpose.

He has extensive experience within numerous Mayan lineages which powers his ability to convey well-rounded and well-founded teachings of Mayan cosmology to the Western mind. Carlos Barrios is also a gifted healer, daykeeper, diviner and teacher.

He has published several studies and books on the Mayan calendar in Spanish, but his seminal work, The Book of Destiny published in English in 2009, has quickly become the reference for many Westerners studying Mayan calendars and prophecies.

His Heartland Tour is geared to reach as many seekers and otherwise interested participants for the least cost possible. Mayan Consciousness – Adapting and Opening to the New Energies of 2012

The ancient teachings of the Mayan grandparents enable us to learn concentration, meditation techniques and practical exercises aimed at bringing in the energies of the new era. It has been said that the Mayan techniques are the quickest way to reach enlightenment.  These techniques help us to align specifically to the physical, mental, psychic and spiritual energies coming in by 2012. They help our ability to  perceive the subtle power that will govern JOB AJAW December 21, 2012.

This workshop will include information on the ancient teachings of Mayan elders for meditation, breaking a rigid frame of mind, handling crystals and candles energies, practical exercises directed to harmonize us and unblock the energies by activation of UKUXEB (energies points – chakras) in relation with the points of entrance and exits of energy to our body. The WAKIB UKUX is an ancestral and extraordinary technique that develops the vision and growth of  intuition through of activation of pineal gland. KAK ALOM (Inner Fire of mother earth) and IX NAWAL (the power of female energy) will also be taught.

These techniques help us to heal diseases and in the same time to align the physical, mental, psychic and spiritual levels.

Requirements: a wide place where candle can be lit and relighted.A little mattress by each one of participants. Comfortable clothing is best. This class is a must for any meditator, light worker or healer who wishes to broaden and deeper their skills.

Carlos Barrios:
This Guatemalan anthropologist, researcher and historian is an expert in the Sacred Maya Calendar. He is also an Ajq’ij -spiritual guide- and member of the Council of Mayan Elders and World Council of Mayan Elders.

He studied the traditions and Cosmo-Vision of the Maya people with Don Pascual, a Chi-Mam -spiritual guide- of the Mam people, who was the mayor and a leader of one of the older partisanships of Mayan people. Carlos was also a student to Don Isidro, one of the last Alach Winak -king of the Achis- and an academic and wise man who had several PhD’s.

Carlos is a researcher with expertise on Mayan culture and spirituality. He worked as a professor at Universidad Rafael Landvar and Universidad Del Valle in Guatemala.

He foretold several prophecies that have proved to be accurate. Amongst them, the attack to the Twin Towers (prophecy of the Elders), the attack by the United States to Iran, the Tsunamis, the economic crisis and the arrival of Obama to the presidency of the USA.

He has actively participated in the rescue of the Mayan tradition and knowledge. He organized the First Encounter of Elders and Native Spiritual Leaders of the American Continent (1995). He also participated and was an exponent on Mayan Spirituality at the Presidential Summit Meetings in San Pedro Sula, Honduras (1994) and in Quito, Ecuador (1995).

He has imparted conferences in several universities of America, as well as in many educational institutions, and diverse international associations and institutions.

He was an exponent on Mayan Spirituality, Global Warming and the Destiny of Humanity, at the First Gathering of Spiritual Leaders that took place in Sweden.

Carlos has also appeared on several documentaries for National Geographic, Discovery Channel, RAI (Italian television) Television Espanola, and NASA, amongst others.

He has published several studies on the Haab Calendar and the Cholq’ij Calendar, edited by the center of Mayan Studies (CEEM) between the years 1989 and 2000.

ADRIANA ROJAS was born in the city of Bogota, Colombia, in a traditional family. She graduated in enterprise administration, specializing in Finance, and became a  stockbroker and trader with important firms and banks of Colombia’s capital city.

She is a female shaman that acquired her knowledge in the Mayan path that she began 15 years ago, receiving teachings from wise elders of eagle clan and priests and elders Tzutujils from Tzotz (bat) Clan (inter – dimensional messengers). Actually is an AJ POM; (Fire Priestess), traditional and expert in CHOLQ’IJ (the Mayan sacred calendar, pronounced chol keej’); and in the techniques of Kan Kueb (Mayan Healing).

Since her childhood, she had interest in esoteric and spiritual subjects and she learned several disciplines of spiritual growth. She was initiated in Tibetan techniques of Bardo and in several disciplines of healings such as Reiki, Prana healing, Reflexology, Amazonian traditional medicine and especially in KAN KUEB (Mayan Healing).

She was initiated in Amazonian tradition during an extraordinary journey in the deepness of the rain forest, being one of the few women accepted by the elders as warriors of green road. This experience will be told in her next book. She has been international lecturer teaching in workshops about:

Together with her husband Don Carlos Barrios, and according to the energies of new cycle, they work as spiritual couple sharing the teachings of the Maya throughout the world in conference and workshop settings. Moreover, they do personal sessions interpret the Mayan sign (Mayan astrology), Reading Tzit (the ancient Mayan method of divination) and sessions of healing and energetic harmonization on four levels.
